Check my Victorian enrolment details

You can check your federal enrolment details with the Australian Electoral Commission.

Use this form to check your enrolment details for Victorian State and local council elections. You can also sign up to receive VoterAlert SMS and email reminders about elections.

To protect your privacy, you must enter your details exactly as they are on the electoral roll.

If you can't confirm your enrolment details, you may still be on the electoral roll.

Silent electors: please call the enrolment helpline on 1300 805 478 if you are a silent elector. To protect your privacy, your enrolment details cannot be viewed online or on the public roll.


'Check my Enrolment' portal privacy statement and collection notice

This notice explains the personal information we collect, use and store when you use the 'Check my Enrolment' portal (the portal). When you use the portal, you consent to the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) collecting, using and storing your personal information as set out in this policy.

Information we collect

To check the accuracy of your enrolment details via the portal, you will be asked to provide personal information. The personal information provided will help us verify your identity during this process. We are authorised under the Electoral Act 2002 (Vic) to collect and verify the information you have been asked to provide. Provision of personal information via the portal is not required by law, however you will be unable to use the features provided by the portal if you do not provide personal information.

We use the personal information you give to us to maintain the register of electors and prepare electoral rolls for Victorian state and local council elections. We may use your email or mobile phone number to send you notifications and reminders for elections and other electoral events in your area.

We may also use your personal information for audit, reporting, or research purposes.

IP address

Your IP address is part of your personal information. It is a unique number assigned to your device when you go online. It's like your home address in real life, but online. Your IP address is collected when you use the portal.

We use your IP address to:

  • Register a transaction record when an elector's details are updated through the portal.
  • Monitor the functionality of the portal and analyse customer experience - such as identifying the rate of successful or failed searches. We use this data to inform customer focussed improvements of the portal.
  • Investigate any complaint or suspected malicious use so that we can take measures to intervene and stop current or future misuse of the portal.

Use and disclosure of information the VEC holds about you

We will not disclose personal information about you to anybody else, unless you have given consent, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.
